Daniel Fields, Tenor
Daniel has a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Syracuse University and a Masters in Vocal Arts from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music. He has performed extensively with Central New York’s Society for New Music both in operas and as a recitalist. He received Syracuse University’s Carol Hall-Nichols award for Vocal Excellence, the Donna Miller Award for Vocal Excellence in a Junior, and the Society for New Music’s Rising Star award in 2009 and 2010. He held the soloist/section leader position at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in Syracuse between 2013-2019. He regularly performs as a jazz and pop vocalist in CNY club venues and with the Silver Arrow Band.
While at Syracuse University, Daniel conducted research correlating traditional yogic teachings, and the teachings from Bel Canto period singing teachers. He has since designed a series of workshops to bring his findings to singers and singing teachers. He is passionate about teaching voice, and has a broad knowledge of vocal science. At USC he continued his research focusing on the intersectionality of mindfulness, yoga, dance, and singing worlds.
